Ruh, Roots & Rhythm in Feeding

Breastfeeding is more than nutrition. It is attachment, regulation, identity, and part of the sacred

Many women navigate breastfeeding challenges with uncertainty, conflicting advice, and cultural messages that feel disconnected from their lived experience. Breastfeeding Counseling offers thoughtful, evidence-informed support that meets you where you are — physically, emotionally, and spiritually.

This service is not about pressure or perfection. It is about understanding your body and your baby, clarifying your goals, and building confidence through compassionate, practical guidance.

Who Benefits from Breastfeeding Counseling

Breastfeeding Counseling may be a good fit if you:

• Want clarity about feeding patterns, supply physiology, or positioning
• Feel overwhelmed by early-feeding challenges like latch difficulty, pain, or engorgement
• Have questions about pumping, returning to work, or feeding alongside other responsibilities
• Are experiencing hormonal or stress-related impacts on feeding
• Seek support that respects both current evidence and your values

Breastfeeding counseling is educational and supportive in nature. It is not medical treatment or therapy, and it does not replace care with a pediatrician, lactation consultant, or other qualified provider when those are needed.

What Makes This Support Different

At Rumanah Wellness, counseling is grounded in:

• Cultural and spiritual awareness
• Evidence-informed lactation science explained clearly
• Person-centered understanding of your goals and context
• Practical steps you can try without overwhelm
• Supportive listening without judgement

We care about your whole experience — your body, your thoughts, your relationships, and the meaning breastfeeding has for you — without shaming any decision you make.

What We May Explore Together

Each conversation is individualized. Depending on your needs and timing, counseling may include:

• Clarifying feeding patterns and infant cues
• Understanding milk production and supply regulation
• Supporting effective positioning and comfortable latch
• Exploring sustainable pacing and rhythm for you and your baby
• Discussing pumping, milk expression, and returning to work or school
• Navigating feeding during periods like illness, growth spurts, or Ramadan
• Supporting emotional responses to feeding challenges

The focus is on understanding your experience, exploring what’s working, and identifying a few steps that feel realistic and respectful of your capacity.

What You Can Expect

Clients often describe leaving sessions with:

• A clearer sense of feeding physiology
• Reduced uncertainty and stress around feeding patterns
• Practical next steps that feel achievable
• Greater confidence in interpreting feeding cues
• Improved communication with caregivers or support people

Outcomes vary for every family. Counseling does not promise specific physiological results; the emphasis is on informed understanding, self-efficacy, and sustainable care.

How Counseling Works

• Sessions are offered virtually for accessibility and flexibility
• Counseling is collaborative and paced to your needs
• One-on-one time provides space for reflection, questions, and planning
• Optional follow-up resources may be shared after sessions

Details on session length, packages, and scheduling are available at booking.

Breastfeeding counseling is educational and supportive. It is not medical care or clinical treatment. If your baby is showing signs of dehydration, poor weight gain, jaundice, or other urgent concerns, you should seek evaluation with a pediatric provider. Counseling can accompany clinical care, but it does not replace it.
