Jessica is a Canadian Muslim, born and raised beneath the wide skies and Rocky Mountain vistas of Western Canada. Brought up between three cultures and three kitchens (where perogies, tulips, and poutine all had a place at the table) her upbringing was shaped by immigrant grit, old-country cures, and lively Sunday brunches. This eclectic exposure sparked a lifelong curiosity about how people heal, what they carry, and how faith, food, and tradition shape the body and the soul.
Graduating from the University of Alberta in 2007, she has since practiced as a Registered Nurse in diverse clinical settings, including surgical oncology and public health. Sparked by her love of learning, she has completed trainings in Childbirth Education, Lactation Counseling, Nutritional Therapy, and Holistic Health Coaching. She continues to deepen her studies in traditional medical models, Maliki jurisprudence, and medical fiqh with teachers from America and the United Kingdom.
Her mission with Rumanah Wellness is to empower Muslim women and their families with the knowledge and confidence to navigate wellness in every season of life.
